The Australian Institute of Architects has announced the shortlist for the 2024 Victorian Architecture Awards, with the largest number of entries of all Australian states, and a total of 228 submissions across 15 categories including Sustainable Architecture, Regional Architecture, Heritage and the popular Residential Architecture ? Multiple Housing Category. 
In 2024 significant regional projects to be shortlisted include Wirrng Wirrng, a new community hub for Queenscliff by Kerstin Thompson Architects, in the Public Architecture category. As well as the Galkangu building in central Bendigo by Lyons, shortlisted in both the Regional Architecture and Commercial Architecture categories, and a recent project to connect Mildura?s CBD and community to the Murray River, Powerhouse Place by Public Realm Lab, shortlisted in three categories ? Urban Design, Regional Architecture and Sustainable Architecture.   Striking examples of the Interior Architecture category from residential projects include Northcote House by LLDS; Fairlie Apartment by Kennedy Nolan; Geelong Arts Centre (Stage 3) by ARM Architecture, also nominated in Public and Urban Design categories and Up There, a new flagship store on Flinders Lane by Kennedy Nolan.
