Key Milestone Achieved For 546 West 13th Avenue, A New Affordable Housing Development for Women by Women in Vancouver
GBL Architects has received unanimous approval from the City of Vancouver Council for their new housing development for the international non-profit organization and global volunteer organization Soroptimist International of Vancouver.
The housing project at 546 West 13th Avenue in Vancouver, British Columbia, is the first development project in Canada developed, designed, and delivered by an entirely female team, demonstrating women?s leadership in a male-dominated sector. 546 West 13th will help address women?s housing needs by providing affordable ?Housing for Women By Women,? fulfilling the team?s goal of women at their best helping women be their best.
Non-profit organization Soroptimist International of Vancouver and Vancouver-based developer Purpose Driven Development have partnered on this innovative redevelopment project to bring 135 affordable rental homes to workforce women, senior women, and women-led families.
