Aether launches debut line of audio eyewear
Dezeen promotion: new audio eyewear brand Aether is launching its first range of products that allow wearers to take calls and listen to music through their sunglasses and optical-compatible glasses.
Aether's mission is to combine design and innovative sound technology to pioneer new listening experiences through eyewear.
Aether's audio eyewear connects to any smart device via Bluetooth
Its debut collection of audio-enabled glasses features five models available in three colour options, as sunglasses and optical-compatible blue light glasses.
The eyewear integrates audio technology that connects to a smart device via Bluetooth, so that sound can be transferred to tiny speakers that sit beside the ears.
The collection includes options for glasses and sunglasses The audio function is activated by tapping the side of the frames, made from acetate by Italian company Mazzucchelli. The eyewear comes fitted with Carl Zeiss Vision lenses and each pair weighs less that 40 grams.
The glasses offer three hours of playing time from a single charge that occurs in an accompanying brushed aluminium case.

"Our goal was to create a wearable design object as a portal to a holistic aural experience, allowing users to tune into the soundscape that reflects their mood while staying connected the present moment," said Aether creative director and co-founder Hannes Unt.
