Architectural Firms receive recognition for Excellence and Community Building
This year?s 2022 Lieutenant-Governor?s Award of Excellence in Architecture was presented to Nordais Architecture Inc. for their design of the ?Maison du Bocage? project in Caraquet.Â

The Award of Excellence in Architecture is given every three years and celebrates outstanding architectural?design in recently completed projects by New Brunswick architects and recognizes the important role architecture has in building and inspiring communities across the province. A jury of local, regional, and national selected this year?s recipient from the 30 submissions received.
?Architecture can be the driving force towards lasting change in our communities and is a part of the legacy we leave for future generations to enjoy and to discover. Congratulations to this year?s award recipients, who managed to seamlessly integrate modern elements in the restoration of one of the oldest homes in the Acadian Peninsula. Through innovation, creativity, and a flair for design, architects help shape our province. This award recognizes their immense, yet understated, contributions to New Brunswick? said Lieutenant Governor Brenda Murphy.Â
?Maison du Bocage?, designed by architect Mathieu Boucher-Côté and intern architect Marika Drolet-Ferguson, was selected for being beautifully proportioned within its historic structure. The jury noted that the project ?stood out for its approach to innovation and heritage conservation.?
