Bakpak has received an honorable mention in the competition for the new headquarters of the Joint Research Center of the European Commission in Seville. A restricted competition that we have had the pleasure to carry out in association with  the office Mecanoo  from Holland, Arquitectura Agronomía from Barcelona and Citythinking from Seville.
The design tries to establish an urban connection between the public and private spaces that surround it, integrating in a coherent way the existing volumes, the Magallanes park and the commercial and financial center of Torre Pelli. The building designed with a wooden structure is organized around a vegetated courtyard from which the building is climate controlled through the regulation of radiation and ventilation. The landscaping in this case becomes crucial working with the vegetation in the vertical and horizontal planes breaking the limits between the interior and exterior spaces of the building.
