Becoming Architects Canada launches live Minecraft design competition
Becoming Architects Canada / Devenir architecte Canada (BAC-DAC) is hosting an architectural design jam on Minecraft, with cash prizes, December 17 – 19th.
The organization aims to engage all different ?Becoming Architects? (students, interns, recently licensed architects, syllabus students and foreign trained architects) in a fun, collaborative and sustainability-focused design competition.
“We wanted to do things a little differently than usual to enable a virtual event to be as engaging – and fun – as possible!” says Ksenia Eic, President of BAC-DAC.
The jam will be hosted on a Minecraft server, with each team given a random site. The theme of the jam is ?Designing in the Era of Climate Change.? At the end of the jam, teams will be able to wander around and explore others? creations. The top place (most voted) team will receive a $1,500 cash prize, with second and third place teams receiving $1,000 and $750, respectively. The event is co-hosted with O’Planet. Registration is required by December 17th at the event’s eventbrite site.
