Berghain designers Studio Karhard creates club-feel inside The Urban Dentist
Light-up walls, mirrored partitions, and colourful stone surfaces help channel a "cool bar" aesthetic inside this dental office in Berlin, which has been completed by Studio Karhard ? the designers of renowned nightclub Berghain.
Owned by three young dentists, The Urban Dentist has been designed by Studio Karhard to seem more like a "concept store or cool bar".
This is a familiar aesthetic for the studio, who's founders Thomas Karsten and Alexandra Erhard were responsible for  developing the interiors of Berghain ? a renowned electronica nightclub in eastern Berlin that occupies a former power plant.
"We wanted to create an atmosphere where patients could feel relaxed and fearless," Karsten and Erhard told Dezeen. "So we tried to avoid typical dentist colours like white and glossy surfaces". The clinic is situated at a busy traffic junction near the city's S-Bahn railway line, lending it the name of The Urban Dentist.
Upon entering the dentists, guests check in for their appointments at a black desk inlaid with oversized green and peach-coloured aggregate.
Directly behind sits an orange mirror screen divider, which closes off a small admin office.
The rear wall of the adjacent waiting area has been fitted with LED strip lights that can be programmed to change colour.
Extra ring-shaped lights have been suspended from the ceiling, hanging above a pair of circular pink seating pods.
