Bomma unveils Blimp crystal lighting by Big-Game at Milan design week
Dezeen promotion: Czech design brand Bomma has released a collection of hand-blown crystal lighting designed by Swiss studio Big-Game.
Called Blimp, the crystal lighting collection features three sizes of pendant lamps: a table lamp, a floor lamp and a wall or ceiling light.

On show at Milan design week, which takes place this year between 8 and 14 April, the lighting series is described by Bomma as "monumental and airy". It has a wavy silhouette that is meant to resemble a cloud or a blimp airship.
"This stunning massive crystal cloud floats in space with the lightness of a zeppelin," said Bomma.

The lighting series was handblown by Bomma's glassmakers. It is available in either clear or an amber shade. "Amber colour brings a warm ambient feeling into any interior," explained the brand. "To emphasise the extraordinary quality of Czech crystal, Blimp comes also in a pure crystal version."

The largest item in the collection is the Blimp pendant lamp that stands at one metre tall.
"As individual pieces are nearly one metre high, the production of this monumental lighting is literally on the edge of both technical and human possibilities," said Bomma.
"This gentle giant is a testament to human ingenuity and craftsmanship."
