Bourgeois Lechasseur Architectes Redesigns Charming Cabane 217
We can all agree Quebec has some pretty impressive landscapes to offer and the following cabin takes advantage of it positioning in the  Ste-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier. Redesigned by Bourgeois Lechasseur, Cabin 217 represents a wonderful example of how architecture can merge with the local and with the natural. The architects had the difficult job of reviving and old rustic wooden cabin and give it a new, contemporary, comfortable approach, whilst preserving the idea of intimacy and comfort sought in a vacation home. Glazed walls have been use din excess to provide plenty of sunlight and a powerful connection with the landscape.
?On the side nearest the river, part of the roof has been raised to accommodate the master bedroom and ensuite bathroom. This second, much larger, dormer creates an airy, bright space. The client was thus able to keep the idea of a ?tree house? and still preserve privacy with the surrounding vegetation.?Â
The old wooden cottage had a charm of its own, embeded into vegetation as it was.
The interior design reflect a love for the minimal, with the usage of light color schemes and cozy wooden materials.
Each room of the house has been donned with a glimpse of the natural, including the bathroom.
