British architects win international science building project
London 30/08/2016 – Weston Williamson +Partners were announced the winners of the Science City International Architectural Competition in Cairo, Egypt. Another great British architecture practice, Zaha Hadid architects took third place.
Organised by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, judged by a panel of world-leading academics and science entrepreneurs, this was a one-stage open international competition for a comprehensive plan and conceptual design. The organization announced the winners of the Science City International Architectural Competition on Monday 29th August, opening at the same time, an exhibition for the public at the BA conference centre.
The design brief for the competition of Science City was to create a set of buildings and spaces that will be inspiring inside and out, and express a particular vision of the quest for knowledge and the pursuit of science.
