Call for entries: Archishorts film competition
What stories do buildings and urban landscapes tell" How can films be used to tell them"
The fifth annual Architecture and Design Film Festival (adff.ca) has a film competition focused on showcasing the built environment. Registration for the competition is free and open to all, and current and former Winnipegers are particularly encouraged to apply.
Adult and youth filmmakers are invited to submit a two minute video about architecture or the built environment. There are two categories: up to 18 and over 18 years of age. Prizes will include a public screening at Cinematheque, as part of the only film festival in Canada that is dedicated to architecture and design. The Architecture+Design Film Festival will run April 13th to 17th, 2016 The architecture and landscapes of the city surround us. This is a unique chance for people to creatively show how a place?any place?can tell a story. Films may be made in an urban or rural setting and in any language. Filmmakers are welcome to explore their ideas using anything from montage to Minecraft. Merging architecture and film can allow both youth and adults to start seeing their surroundings in a new light.
The contest is intended to be as accessible as possible. Filmmakers may use mobile phones or any other type of camera for capturing their two minute movies. They can then download the registration form at adff.ca and email their film and form to [email protected].
Submission deadline is March 24th, 2016. For more ...
