Call for entries to Home Revisited design competition
Dezeen promotion: designers and architects have until 31 December 2016 to submit entries to a competition searching for designs for future living.Â
Organised by the Asko Foundation, the Home Revisited design competition aims to find home innovations that will meet the needs of future residents, while also demonstrating innovation in architecture, design and technology.
The contest aims to find home designs that will meet the needs of future residents like the Atelier House by Ateljé Sotamaa, which enhances sustainability and the social life of the community
"The home of the future will be shaped by technological and social innovation," said the organisers. "Lifestyles will be influenced by environmental questions, new definitions of family, multiculturalism, ageing and digitalisation." Contestants are challenged to explore the concept of home from every angle, including service design, spatial solutions, product design and technical solutions.
Both professionals and students can enter the competition, either as individuals or in groups of two to five.
Other precedents for contestants include a visionary model for energy and food self-sustaining eco-communities by ReGen Villages, BV and EFFEKT architects
The Grand Prize is ?30,000 (approximately £25,597), the Golden Prize is ?15,000 (£12,789) and the third prize is ?10,000 (£8,532). A further ten shortlisted entries will receive a prize of ?2,000 (£1,694).
