Capa outdoor furniture by Søren Rose for Gandia Blasco
Dezeen Showroom: Capa is a range of outdoor seating designed by Søren Rose for Spanish brand Gandia Blasco, which takes cues from minimalist Scandinavian design.
Capa comprises an armchair, sofa and table, each envisioned by the Danish designer to be as pared-back as possible.
According to Rose, the collection encapsulates the concept of hygge ? a Danish term that refers to finding contentment in simplicity.
Capa comprises a table, sofa and armchair
The two-seater sofa and armchair both feature a tubular aluminium base with smooth, curved edges and contrasting armrests made from iroko wood.
They can be complemented with a matching, low-lying coffee table.
The frame and cushions for each product are available in a variety of colours, allowing users to tailor the seating to their outdoor space. There are also 11 different finishes for the tabletop, ranging from smooth to veined. Each piece has a tubular aluminium base
"As a designer, you always work to invent something that does not exist," Rose explained. "It is like a constant struggle to find a purpose or a need that gives you the solution to a problem."
"With Gandia Blasco, we have tried to combine its lifestyle and minimalist universe with the Danish concept of hygge, a philosophy of life that encourages you to enjoy simple and relaxed plans with the people you love."
