Casa Play Black is a chic home located in Turin, Italy, redesigned in 2021 by Bodà-Architetti.

Description
The project rethinks the interior spaces of an early twentieth-century villa on the hill of Turin, a few steps from the Basilica of Superga.
The original division of the rooms is modified by the insertion in the space of a pinwheel of superimposed black planes that underlines the opening of new passages and new visual glimpses, enhances the existing ones, and accompanies the user through the entire environment.
The new black planes, in contrast with the ethereal white of the existing box, create a scenic space strongly characterized but at the same time sufficiently neutral to accommodate and dialogue with the heterogeneous collection of furnishings of the client. The selection of a palette of materials declined on the same tone of black such as polished marble, matt lacquered wood, natural leather, smoked mirror, and textured wallpapers, creating an alternation of finishes that reflect and play with the light in different ways, helping to create a vibrant and never predictable space, where the eye is attracted by different games of shadows and reflections.
The result is a dynamic space, with undefined boundaries and never closed, in which there is room for the inclusion of heterogeneous objects, in which taste can change and the mind remains open to the indeterminate and change.
