Portes Bonheur, le Chemin des Carrières in Rosheim
Design: Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter AS, Norway
Location: Rosheim-St Nabor railway, Alsace, North East France
Portes Bonheur, le Chemin des Carrières in Rosheim, France opened on the 5th and 6th October 2019
The “Portes Bonheur” greenway is an original creation for the Communauté de Communes des Portes de Rosheim.
The transformation of a 11km abandoned railwaytrack between two distant Villages of Rosheim & Saint-Nabor into cultural pavilions and art installations is ment to yet again combine the villages along the track. But this time to be discovered on foot or by bike!
The path is transformed, but still tells a tale from the past which the architectural interventions split into chapters of different landscapes, offering a varied universe and highlighting remarkable sites along the way.
Specially designed elements punctuate the way, showcasing the territory and re-inventing the meeting point and the way of travelling between the villages ? but in order to yet again reunite the communities in a new social- and environmental friendly way.
