Competition: win a grey leather moto jacket by The Arrivals
For our latest competition, Dezeen has teamed up with fashion brand The Arrivals to offer one reader the chance to win a women's leather jacket in grey.
Clo is a jacket made from a light-coloured leather with matching poly lining and metal details. The piece has a moto construction with its asymmetrical opening and silver hardware.
The jacket was designed by The Arrivals, a fashion label based in New York City and led by co-founders Jeff Johnson and Kal Vepuri.
The piece hits at hip level and has various zipper pouches, including two parallel pockets horizontally over the chest and a smaller pouch for coins secured with a flap.
New Zealand lamb leather was selected for the construction, as the material is known for its lightweight durability and softness, making the jacket suitable for all seasons. "Clo is a streamlined all-season moto rooted in minimalism with a hint of irreverence," said the brand.
Relating to its minimalist interpretation, the jacket has no epaulettes or flaps on the shoulders, but still incorporates various silvery studs to reference the classic moto shape.
"The leather jacket started as a military piece until the first moto was designed for Harley Davidson in 1928," said Johnson in an interview with Dezeen. "It serves a purpose of functionality, durability and ergonomics, but in a cultural context, it has become much more, becoming a symbol of counter-culture in the 1950s and 1960s."
