Dancing Leaves lighting installation by ??Lud?k Hroch for Lasvit
Dezeen Showroom: glass specialist ??Lud?k Hroch has created a lighting installation for Czech brand Lasvit that is designed to capture the look of leaves dancing in the wind.
The conception of Dancing Leaves came about as part of a project for the Peninsula Paris Hotel in 2014, which saw Hroch create a glass sculpture resembling the movement of leaves "in the wind, floating and eventually flying away."
Each leaf is hand-sculpted and arranged into either a round, oval or conical configuration Each element of the installation is made from dozens of meticulously rendered glass components, all of which have been refined and hand-sculpted by a master glassmaker.
The installation is part of Lasvit's residential Icons series, which sees its bestselling signature designs reissued in new variations. Amongst the new Icons range are versions of the Dancing Leaves sculpture arranged in either a round, oval or conical shape.
