Dancing Vase by Raili Keiv
Dezeen Showroom: Tallinn-based ceramicist Raili Keiv has created a vase informed by an Estonian balancing toy for online lifestyle store NID.
Keiv designed the sculptural Dancing Vase with a unique rounded base so that it moves and swings when it is touched.
Its form is derived from a traditional roly-poly doll known as Jonnipunn, which the designer says conjures nostalgic memories for every Estonian.
The Dancing Vase is available in two sizes and four finishes
"The Dancing Vase grew out of very practical reasons, the aim was to create a vase convenient for classic flower compositions which would not press the flowers too close and would be easy to clean," Keiv added.
Each of the stoneware vases is made in Keiv's studio in Tallinn. The design is available in either a large or small size and in four different finishes ? marbled, green, mirrored and pearl. Product: Dancing Vase
