Expert Council Meeting To Determine The Winner Of The International Competition To Develop A Concept For An Ecopolis In Sakhalin Region
Ecopolis in Sakhalin Open International Competition Finalists
On December 16 in Moscow, Russia, a meeting of the Expert Council will take place, which will determine the winner of the Open International Competition for the development of an architectural and urban planning concept for a new town in Sakhalin Region. Sakhalin Region Governor Valery Limarenko will participate.
The judging panel of the competition includes representatives of executive authorities of Sakhalin Region and Russian and international experts in the field of urban planning and architecture, as well as members of the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP). Sakhalin is the largest island of Russia – the northernmost island of the Japanese archipelago:

The meeting will also be attended by leading architects, experts in sustainable development, environmentally friendly construction and urban planning, as well as observers from the Russian Ministry for Far East and Arctic Development, the Russian Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the Higher School of Economics.
