Eight shining examples of lighting from New York's ICFF 2016
New York 2016: with the Big Apple now an important centre for lighting design, Dezeen's US editor Dan Howarth selects eight of the best new products at the city's ICFF fair this week.
Dezeen identified New York's burgeoning lighting scene last year, when we interviewed some of the industry's key players, including David Weeks, Lindsey Adelman and Bec Brittain.

This year, we were on the look out for more evidence of the city's prominence in this area of design at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), taking place at Manhattan's Jacob Javits Center from 14 to 17 May 2016.
At the fair, the trend for brass fixtures appeared to be waning, making way for more black finishes, while light-diffusing glass orbs remained a staple. Here are eight of the best lighting designs on show at ICFF:
Circuit by Apparatus
Glowing glass capsules nestle in brass shades to form the Circuit pendant lamps by Apparatus. The repeated elements can be paired and alternated in different formations.
Laurent by Lambert & Fils
Although based in Canada, design studio Lambert & Fils chose ICFF to debut its Laurent lighting collection. The range includes opalescent glass spheres balanced within folded black metal frames, which are designed as a reinterpretation of classic pendant lighting. Find out more about the collection »
