Five of the best exhibitions to see at Dutch Design Week 2016
With Dutch Design Week just around the corner, we've rounded up five of the event's best exhibitions, including a gastronomic venture from Maarten Baas and a show exploring erotic displeasure.
Taking place from 22 to 30 October 2016, this year's Dutch Design Week will focus on the creative process under the theme The Making Of.
More than 2,500 participants will show their products, concepts and experiments across 100 locations in Eindhoven. Here are five of the exhibitions you shouldn't miss during the event:
In Need Of... by Design Academy Eindhoven graduates
Here, 171 of the 2016 Design Academy Eindhoven graduates will present their visions for a better world and explore how design can play a role achieving this.
Throughout the graduation show, students will deal with themes including war, peace, surveillance, privacy and gender. Production processes and methods are also challenged through new material innovations and technologies. In Need Of... at De Witte Dame, Emmasingel 14 ? 22 to 30 October 2016
Envisions Products in Process
A group of designers who came together to showcase the unseen steps of the research process in Milan will bring the exhibition to this year's Dutch Design Week.
The colourful, material-focused show ? called Products in Process Part 2 ? presents playful designs related to colour, materials and techniques. Each is intended to trigger a dialogue between designers, clients and manufacturers by presenting everything but the end product.
