Fredericia launches furniture collection designed by Jasper Morrison
Dezeen promotion: British designer Jasper Morrison has created a collection of furniture for Danish brand Fredericia, which will launch during this year's Stockholm Furniture Fair (+ slideshow).
The collection ? comprising two tables and a sofa ? is Morrison's first collaboration with the Fredericia, and was largely inspired by the brand's founding designer Børge Mogensen.
"Fredericia and Børge Mogensen were late but important discoveries for me," said Morrison. "Mogensen, I now realise, is the quintessential Danish designer, capable of creating understated and beautifully proportioned furniture for living the good life ? 'super normal' before the term existed."
Taro is one of two tables in the collection, and is available in three different sizes. Constructed from solid wood, the piece is designed as a continuation of Mogensen's dining tables that were also created with the same solid materials.

"We have admired Jasper's designs for many years, as his 'super normal' concept of furniture is able to blend seamlessly into someone's life as either a centrepiece or inconspicuously, and is very similar to the philosophy in which our founding designer Børge Mogensen approached design," said Fredericia creative director Thomas Graversen.
