Get inspired By Past Winners to the Canadian Architect Awards
The deadline to submit your project to the Canadian Architect Awards of Excellence and Photo Award of Excellence is quickly approaching. Submissions of projects in the design phase and under construction are due on Thursday, September 12, 2019.
This is also the deadline for submitting your best architectural photo of a Canadian building?professionals and amateurs alike are welcome to enter.
Here?s a look back at some of our favourite entries from past years.
The new paddock for the F1 Grand Prix du Canada, by FABG Architectes, won an Award of Excellence in our 2018 cycle. Jurors admired how the exposed mass timber structure speeds along the raceway. The project was up and running for this year?s Grand Prix?and the photos of the real thing look just as stunning as the renderings.
Ema Peter?s photo of PARQ Vancouver, a building designed by ACDF and IBI Group, was the winner of our inaugural Photo Award of Excellence in 2018. In the first year, we ran the architectural photography award as an invited competition. This year, it?s open to amateur and professional photographers alike to submit. Give us your best shot!
Social sustainability is at the core of Michael Leckie Studio?s Full House, which won a 2017 Award of Excellence. The multi-generational house is a five-bedroom home with a detached one-bedroom laneway unit. A pivoting partition allows the house to be configured in three different ways, to accommodate changing family needs over time.
