Sitting on a hillside in the idyllic rural setting of Ghin Ghin in north east Victoria, the U-shape Ghin Ghin House wraps around a generous central courtyard. Thick external walls enable storage opportunities internally and deep window reveals, which provide effective sun shading on all sides.

Simple detailing reinforces to concept of a pure and striking dark box sitting in the landscape. Bluestone tiling, charcoal cabinetry and ceilings paired with rich timber cladding internally provide a fitting backdrop to the exquisite brass lighting, furniture, tapware and other objects custom designed for the house by the owner Mr Pinchy.

The client is the owner of Mr Pinchy and Co which is a contemporary Australian brand that designs sculptural homewares. Their exquisite eye for good design is apparent in every aspect of this project.
