HI-MACS solid surfacing by HI-MACS
Dezeen Showroom: HI-MACS has created new recycled and terrazzo versions of its surfacing product HI-MACS, providing sustainable options with a contemporary look.
HI-MACS is a solid surface material suitable for commercial and residential projects, including high-traffic areas such as hotels and airports, as well as kitchen and bathroom surfaces, walls and sculpted features.
The new HI-MACS colours include Santa Ana from the recycled Volcanics range
Made of minerals and pigments mixed with acrylic, the material is hard-wearing, hygienic, stain-resistant and can be moulded into any shape to give a visually seamless finish.
The new HI-MACS options expand on an already well-established offering that has been used in projects by Zaha Hadid, Marcel Wanders and David Chipperfield. The HI-MACS material is suited to kitchen and bathroom surfaces
There are two new terrazzo colours: the neutral, multicoloured Terrazzo Classico and more industrial grey Terrazzo Grigio.
The six new recycled finishes contain up to 16 per cent recycled content and have the Greenguard Gold Indoor Air Quality Certificate.
Three of the new recycled colours are in the Granite stone-effect range while the other three are in the Volcanics selection, which is more luxurious and mimics precious natural stones.
