IKEA and Sonos unveil table lamp and bookshelf speakers
IKEA has collaborated with Sonos to create a pair of Symfonisk hybrid speakers that each double as a homeware item.
The Symfonisk table lamp and bookshelf speakers were launched at Milan design week 2019.
Both products, which have in-built Wi-Fi speakers that are compatible with Sonos' wireless sound system, are designed to blend effortlessly into the home.
One of the speakers is also a lamp, while the other can be used as a shelf
"Creating atmosphere and convenience are central in the creation of the IKEA Home Smart concept, and the Symfonisk range is perfectly designed with that in mind," said Björn Block, business leader for IKEA Home Smart at IKEA Sweden.
"IKEA is always looking for ideas that improve life at home. By integrating technology with home furnishing products and solutions we can do that in an even better way," he said. The lamp speaker is designed to fit into the home
Described as "the loudest table lamp ever", the Symfonisk table lamp features a rounded form with a light diffuser at the top and a base that doubles as an in-built speaker.
It is available as either a light-grey speaker with a white light-diffuser or a black speaker with a gold light-diffuser.
The lamp speak is available in two colours
