In Memoriam: Antoine Predock (1936-2024)

Architect Antoine Predock recently passed away at his home in New Mexico.
According to Legacy.com, Predock passed away at the age of 87 from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Predock was born in Missouri and went to the University of New Mexico where he initially studied engineering, but later transferred to Columbia University to complete his studies. Predock returned to New Mexico where he designed buildings inspired by the Southwest desert and lived for the remainder of his life.
His works include La Luz del Oeste neighborhood in Albuquerque, Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres and the Hotel Sante Fe at Disneyland Paris. His work is also present in various colleges and universities, including at the University of New Mexico?s School of Architecture, Stanford University, Ohio State University, Colorado College, and more. In Canada, he designed the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, Manitoba, which opened in 2014, with executive architect Architecture49.
Most recently, Predock designed residences in New Mexico and Costa Rica, and worked on the Albuquerque Rail Trail.
He was honoured with a Gold Medal by the American Institute of Architects, and the New Mexico Governor?s Award for Excellence in the Arts, among other distinctions.
