International LafargeHolcim Awards for Sustainable Construction open for entries
The 6th international LafargeHolcim Awards for Sustainable Construction is open for entries until February 25, 2020. The LafargeHolcim Awards seeks leading projects from professionals, and ideas that combine sustainable architecture and construction.

?The LafargeHolcim Awards highlights each project?s contribution to solve a collective need and thus transform it into a collective desire,? said Alejandro Aravena, Partner Architect, Elemental, Chile. According to the LafargeHolcim Foundation, the competition promotes circular thinking and the reduction of CO2 emissions across all disciplines. These projects identify the ideas with the highest potential to tackle today?s challenges to increasing urbanization and to improve quality of life.
The Awards offers a total of $2 million in prize money and focuses on concepts from architecture, engineering, urban planning, materials and construction technology, and related fields.
The foundation states that the competition runs in two phases. In the regional phase, independent juries evaluate submissions in each of the geographic regions: Europe, North America, Latin America, Middle East Africa, and Asia...
