In designing Jidori, Giles Reid Architects wanted the restaurant to have two atmospheres – open and airy during the day and intimate by night. To create a sense of occasion, the architects placed a roof shape over the dining area and then folded it back up over the kitchen.
The room has a huge double bay window and because it lies on an axis with the pedestrian crossing, an amazingly direct relationship to the street. At night, the interior has a lantern like quality.

The bar is made of Sycamore and seats ten. The floor is Oak laid diagonally. The walls are light grey Valchromat, which has a clear seal to preserve its texture. Bar stools have cork seats.
