Retail design guru garners industry honors for latest Bloomingdale?s design, and looks forward to a banner year of international work
Kevin Kennon Architects PC (KKA), the firm renowned for its groundbreaking work with the biggest names in retailing, celebrates a landmark year that saw its practice grow in locations around the globe.
The studio, known for its deft merging of innovative design and corporate identity, and a long-time partner with retail powerhouses Bloomingdale?s and Macy?s, expanded its scope with several overseas projects. Prime among these was a four-level store for luxury brand Felix B. Maduro in the $360 million Soho Mall located in Panama City. With inventive planning, KKA transformed a disorganized existing space into an engaging shopping experience that sets the standard for upscale merchandising in the fast-growing capital city. This month, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) announced the winners of the 2016 U.S. Design and Development Awards competition, which rewards excellence, innovation, and creativity in the American retail real-estate industry.
