Kohler creates installations informed by flowing water at Milan Design Week 2024
Promotion: bathroom brand Kohler teamed up with designer Samuel Ross and design studio Yabu Pushelberg to create two installations that display the brand's latest products at this year's Milan Design Week.
A Kohler product booth designed by Yabu Pushelberg and an installation named Terminal 02, created by Ross' industrial design studio SR_A, both featured elements informed by flowing water.
Industrial pipes were laid out at the Palazzo del Senato to evoke "ideas of flow and control, alongside discovery and play"
Taking place at Fuorisalone, Terminal 02 was designed to showcase the launch of Formation 02, a limited edition smart toilet also designed by Ross (pictured at the top of the article).
Described by Kohler as having a brutalist silhouette, Formation 02 has an asymmetric shape with textured surfaces made from orange-rendered composite resin. The maze-like installation eventually led visitors to the orange toilet
Industrial pipes were set between grand pillars at the Palazzo del Senato to form a maze-like installation that led visitors to the toilet.
The idea behind the installation was to combine elements of natural landscape with industrial and scale engineering.
For its product booth at Salone del Mobile, Kohler Company presented designs from its brands Kohler, Kallista, Kast and Klafs, working with Yabu Pushelberg to create a space that aimed to combine art, design, technology and wellbeing.
