London House Extension Shaping a Contemporary Home by Cousins & Cousins Architects
A new extension envisioned by Cousins & Cousins Architects for a remarkable Victorian home in East London beautifully transformed a shelter. The new extension nestles a needed dinning room on the first floor and on a second floor, a bedroom. Bricks and windows re-purposed from an earlier demolition have been used in the extensions.
The new dinning room now features full glazed walls on two sides, opening up towards the courtyard in which beautiful lush greenery emphasizes the interior space in an extraordinary manner. Light floods the interior now, putting a new light on the beautiful, reconfigured kitchen that enters in a dialogue with the new dinning area.
Glass and brick beautifully protecting a very pure white stark, interior heart.
Greenery is without a doubt the perfect scenery and background for any design line.
The wooden table becomes a focal point in the setting in which the Eames dinning chairs have an ethereal, transparent role, beautifully embedded in stark white setting.
Simple proportions emphasizing a plane facade.
