LSE Students’ Centre Approval
Design for the London School of Economics Students’ Centre by irish architects O’Donnell & Tuomey has received planning approval. The project is costed at £21.5 million.
The exhibition follows the recent announcement of Dublin based practice O’Donnell & Tuomey Architects as the winners of the competition. Their design was described as “a building that will glow with light and activity at night, and be engaging, open and social at all times”. The new Students’ Centre will play a vital role in enhancing the student experience and in furthering LSE’s aim of creating a world class estate. The other five finalists schemes are by : Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, London ; David Chipperfield Architects, London ; de Rijke Marsh Morgan, London ; Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, London ; and 3XN A/S, Copenhagen.
