Louis-Hébert Residence: A Modern Makeover
Vives St-Laurent has beautifully transformed the Louis-Hébert residence in Montreal’s Rosemont area. This one-time duplex now shines with a mix of modern and traditional styles. The architects, revisiting their work from 15 years prior, focused on updating the first floor and the upstairs bathroom. They kept the bedrooms as they were but redesigned other spaces for a family of five. A Warm Welcome
Step inside and you’ll see a layout typical of Montreal homes. A central hallway leads to all the rooms. Right next to the entrance, there’s now a cozy boudoir. It’s got a bookcase, comfortable seating, and a desk. A glass partition separates this space while letting in lots of light.
Cherishing the Old
The team took care to keep the house’s original features. They smoothed out the arches for a softer look and sandblasted the floors to maintain the home’s original vibe. The ceiling medallions from the old layout add a unique touch.
