Mélos armchair by Aro Vega for Monogram
Dezeen Showroom: Two mismatched, geometric volumes converge to form the Mélos armchair, created by architect and designer Aro Vega for his brand Monogram.
Mélos is a study in contrasts, with a prism for a base and a cylindrical bolster pillow, diagonally offset across one of its corners, acting as the backrest.
Mélos Soft is upholstered in linen and cream-coloured velvet
Each of these two elements is upholstered in a different textile. A more neutral version, called Soft, features linen and cream-coloured velvet, while Mélos Wild sees bright pink brocade paired with blue velvet.
The seat and backrest are connected via a tubular, stainless steel frame, which stands out against the plush upholstery and is finished in oxblood red or shiny chrome.
The chair also comes in a Wild version with blue velvet and brocade upholstery Mélos is a collectable design, like all of Monogram's releases, which is being produced in a limited run of 40 pieces ? each with its number engraved on the base.
