Being the later home for Atlanta Falcons, the stadium was LEED-certified after it hit a performance score of 88 points.
The sports venue, which has an area of 2,000,000 square feet, is famous for its foldable-roof structure. Its design represents sustainability and creativity at their best as it pays a great deal of attention to conserving energy, light, and water.

?We set a goal of achieving the highest LEED rating because it was the right thing to do for our city and the environment. With this achievement, we have a powerful new platform to showcase to the industry and to our fans that building sustainably and responsibly is possible for a venue of any type, size, and scale.? Commented Arthur Blank, Atlanta United and Atlanta Falcons chairman and owner. Courtesy of HOK
The venue utilizes a top-notch rainfall-management system which saves water ? reaching 47% less water than the standard. A well-maintained infrastructure aims at conserving water through high-standard fixtures. The garden surrounding the Mercedes-Benz stadium is designated for foodscaping to contribute to the development of farming and the production of food in the area.
