Dezeen promotion: Italian brand Meridiani has created a collection of dining tables available in a variety of shapes, finishes and sizes. 

Plinto is the second collection from Meridiani's Editions series. A plinth-like metal base in matt black or bronzed brass forms the main framework, supporting a solid marble top.

The top comes in different sizes and shapes ? circular, rectangular, square or octagonal ? as well as a number of finishes.

Among the choices are Calacatta gold, Emperador brown or Marquina black marble, different shades of wood, and lacquered finishes in various colours.

"Light structured metal bases in a black or bronzed brass finish match solid volumes covered in various kinds of marble, wood or lacquered finishes, and are freely combined with differently shaped tops, giving life to an interplay of solids and voids,"  said the brand.
The plinth-like metal base can also be covered, either fully or partially, by a solid block of material.

Meridiani is based in northern Italy. All products in the collection are designed by Andrea Parisio, who has been the head designer and art director since the brand's foundation. The collection is 100 per cent made in Italy.
