Padiglione della Transumanza
Padiglione della Transumanza is a multi-functional pavilion located in central Italy. Italian architects Cimini Architettura created a gorgeous structure that fulfils the simple requirements of a multi-purpose space.
The pavilion is located on a popular trading route for cattle farmers and the producers of wine and oil. The design aimed to enhance the cultural traditions of the region while bringing more tourist traffic to the area. The roofline follows the curve of the mountains, allowing the pavilion to feel more like a feature of the landscape than a man-made object. The wooden façade, covering the entire structure, further contributes to the natural feel of the building. Functionality takes priority in this design. Oversized windows not only frame the green meadows and mountains beyond, but flood the space with natural light, reducing the need for artificial light during the day. A series of slits in the wooden façade allow natural ventilation in the warmer months. The simple interior of hardwood floors, plywood, and white walls provides a durable, blank canvas for events and gatherings.
