Periférico 2008, San Angel
PERIFERICO, is a multi-unit residential building, located to the south of Mexico City, very close to San Angel, known as ?original town?, characterized by its history, monuments and religious architecture, as well as its museums, squares, streets and traditional parties.
At the end of the 18th century, San Ángel was outside of Mexico City, at that time it was the favorite destination for relaxation. The residences that were built at that time, were characterized by being surrounded by gardens, nowadays those constructions are historical heritage within the city.
History and context set the tone for the design of PERIFERICO, where homes are generated, surrounded by gardens, the spaces destined for this purpose represent 20% of construction area of the project.
Volumetrically the building was solved by a parallelepiped of 115.00 meters high, a pair of subtractions generates two great voids, where set green terraces with triple height, which in turn separate a series of terraces, designed strategically to plant about 200 trees on the project.
