Pierre Thibault and Pierre Lahoud receive 2023 Prix du Québec

Pierre Fitzgibbon, Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy and Mathieu Lacombe, Minister of Culture and Communications, have announced the winners of the Prix du Québec 2023 which include Pierre Thibault and Pierre Lahoud.
These awards represent the highest distinction awarded by the Quebec government in the fields of culture and science.
Thibault, who was awarded the Ernest-Cormier prize, is a renowned professor, lecturer, author, and architect, whose work is distinguished by his vision of architecture and the architectural principles that guide his designs. His contribution to architecture as well as his devotion to built heritage is displayed in his work. His first major project was the Musée d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul, which was completed in 1992. Cleverly integrated into Charlevoix’s maritime landscape, the open-plan building admirably accommodates works of art and visitors alike. In 1995, he was commissioned to design the Théâtre de la Dame de Coeur, for which he received the Governor General’s Award. That same year, he was awarded the Canada Council for the Arts Prix de Rome. To date, Thibault has received nearly thirty awards and recognitions.
