The Post War Cottage Turned into an Art Deco Home is located in Ascot, a residential suburb 6 km north-east of Brisbane. Prior to European colonisation Ascot was originally inhabited and these lands were gradually divided up to create smaller allotments more suitable for urban development. Today Ascot has become a residential neighbourhood with many beautiful old Queenslanders.

The house was designed to create a strong connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces, encompassing open plan living. We added a new pavilion style extension containing an open plan kitchen, dining and living area which flows out onto a large covered outdoor terrace with a plunge pool. This elegant space is the perfect place to relax and entertain family and friends. The original kitchen was converted into a third bedroom whilst the original entry was transformed into a lounge and media room. The new wing is linked to the current home with a very open substantially glass link. The new main entry space has an art deco contemporary styling as a transition zone from old to new.
