RAIC Emerging Practitioners launches Webinar on National Building Code of Canada
RAIC Emerging Practitioners (RAIC EP), a newly launched advocacy group targeting interns and other emerging practitioners, has announced the launch of a Webinar on the National Building Code of Canada. This course reflects the RAIC EP’s objective of supporting the path to licensure as part of the larger picture of experience gained through completion of the IAP Program?s requirements.
Working in partnership with Jensen Hughes Consulting Canada Ltd, this one-day course will be offered in French and English. Jensen Hughes is an international Code and Fire Protection Consulting firm, with offices throughout the world and with seven offices in Canada. Their team of seasoned professionals have hands-on experience in their specialties, and Jensen Hughes? participation in industry and regulatory organizations gives them unique insight into both the Code requirements as well as the intention of the Code. They developed this course three years ago and have been refining and teaching it since. The content of this course reflects the “ExAC General And Specific Objectives, 2016? : Code Research items 5.1, 5. 2, 5.3, 5,4 and 5.5. In summary, this session will cover how to utilize and go through each Volume of the NBC, how to apply each Part, and the application of alternative solutions? followed by a lengthier discussion pertaining to the understanding and application of Part 3, Fire and Life Safety.
