Rehousing Multiplex How-To Guide announced as semi-finalist in CMHC?s Housing Supply Level-Up Challenge

ReHousing has announced that its website resource, ReHousing.ca has been selected as a semi-finalist in the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Housing Supply Level-Up Challenge.
The Housing Supply Challenge seeks to recognize and encourage initiatives with the potential to address Canada?s housing crisis by increasing supply and improving the efficiency of new housing creation.
ReHousing is one of 20 semi-finalist projects selected by an expert jury from over 250 nationwide initiatives. The semi-finalists each earn $1 million as well as professional mentorship and support before going on to compete for $3 million and $5 million prizes in the second and third stages of the competition.
In February, ReHousing was awarded the President?s Medal for Outstanding Housing Research, which came with a prize of $25,000. As a result, this recognition marks ReHousing?s second prize from the CMHC this year. Created in a partnership between Daniels Faculty University of Toronto and LGA Architectural Partners, ReHousing is a how-to guide designed to empower ?citizen developers,? which means people outside of the design and building industry, with an understanding of how to convert single family homes into multiplexes.
The website aims to synthesize the knowledge of academic and practicing professionals into accessible graphics and text.
