Revaz Berdzenishvili repurposes Samsung Eco-Package box to create stepped storage unit
In this video, Dezeen x Samsung Out of the Box Competition finalist Revaz Berdzenishvili explains how he transformed a cardboard box for Samsung's The Serif television into an attractive and practical storage solution called Kibe.
Kibe, which means "stairs" in Georgian, Berdzenishvili's native language, features a distinctive stepped design that can be used to display objects, as well as housing a series of drawers to hide things away inside.
The design is one of five finalists in the Dezeen x Samsung Out of the Box Competition to create innovative household objects by repurposing cardboard packaging. Find out about all the finalists here. The contest draws on Samsung's Eco-Package concept, which aims to reduce waste by providing customers with a way to repurpose their television packaging into new household items.
The finalists were selected from 15 shortlisted designs, which included a planter, a sneaker rack and even an amplifier for mobile phones. View the shortlist here.
