Sam Oboh Awarded 2023 Tom Sutherland Award

Sam Oboh, an Edmonton-based architect who specializes in public architecture and bespoke government buildings, has been awarded the Tom Sutherland Award. Oboh is distinguished among his peers as a thought leader and advocate for the architecture profession both within Alberta, across Canada and internationally.
The award, which was created in Tom Sutherland?s honour, recognizes a member of the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA) who exemplifies exceptional leadership qualities within the architectural or interior design sector in Alberta, advances the profession, and demonstrates extraordinary service to the community. This year’s award was presented virtually at the AAA’s AGM on May 25, 2023.
Oboh’s career spans over 25 years in both private and public sectors in Canada and internationally. Licensed in multiple jurisdictions including the State of Texas, Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia, Oboh is an alumnus of the University of Alberta and Ahmadu Bello University with dual master degrees in architecture and Communication. He is a Past President of the RAIC.
