Sancho stool by Elan Atelier
Dezeen Showroom: furniture brand Elan Atelier took inspiration from sculpture and geometry for its Sancho stool, with its dramatically polished underside.
The Sancho stool, like all of Elan Atelier's bronze pieces, is cast using the lost-wax method.

The brand took inspiration from designers Marc Newson and Zaha Hadid in coming up with the sculptural form, which bends over itself to create a stable seat.
The piece is polished to a gleaming gold on its underside and contrasted with a darker, more matt finish on top. The exterior finish options are a warm brown Antique Bronze or a blacker Dark Bronze.

In addition to its standard size, Sancho can be ordered to custom specifications and can be used as a side table. "We are creatives, collectors, curators, and designers employing old-world techniques and noble materials to create modern timeless pieces that will last forever," said Elan Atelier.
The studio was founded in 2014 by Alison Legge and Christopher Noto and has worked with commercial clients including Aman Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels, and GHM Hotels and Resorts.
