Sher Maker Studio named interiors project of the year at Dezeen Awards 2021
Sher Maker Studio has won the Dezeen Awards 2021 interiors project of the year for "reinventing something simple in an elegant way."
Announced at the Dezeen Awards 2021 interiors show, this thoughtful studio space and workshop won the prestigious interiors project of the year award and also took home the victory in the small workspace interior category.
There were 1,314 entries for the interiors categories at this year's Dezeen Awards, which is sponsored by Longboard, Dodds and Shute, Norse Projects, Kingspan, Tom Dixon and Kvadrat.
Of these, 62 projects were shortlisted by our jury of 28 leading figures from the world of interiors.
The winners of the architecture categories were announced yesterday, the design categories will be unveiled tomorrow, the sustainability and media categories on Thursday and finally the studio categories on Friday. To find out about Dezeen Awards 2021, subscribe to our newsletter.
Sher Maker won the Dezeen Award for the studio it created for itself
Chiang Mai-based studio Sher Maker designed its own workspace to house its multidisciplinary practice.
Sher Maker comprises a team of craftspeople who work across architecture, interiors and design, and is known for its considered use of local technology and experimentation with local materials.
For its own studio the practice aimed to create an inspiring space that blended the interior with the outdoors, letting in the atmosphere of the surrounding rural space.
