Shortlist revealed for inaugural AHEAD Americas hospitality awards
Dezeen promotion: a perforated, cylindrical cultural centre in Miami and bespoke Danish-designed guestrooms in a New York hotel are among the shortlisted projects for this year's Awards for Hospitality Experience and Design Americas.
The AHEAD Americas awards recognises hotel and hospitality projects completed in North and South America, and Canada between September 2015 and December 2016.
Winners will be announced in a ceremony at Herzog & de Meuron's Perez Art Museum in Miami on 28 June 2017.
11 Howard in New York is nominated for five categories
Shortlisted projects are divided into 12 categories: Bar, Club or Lounge; Event Spaces; Guestrooms; Hotel Renovation & Restoration; Landscaping & Outdoor Spaces; Lobby & Public Spaces; Resort Hotel; Restaurant; Spa & Wellness; Suite; Urban Hotel ? Conversion; and Urban Hotel ? Newbuild. Among the 48 nominees, six of the shortlisted hotels are in Mexico and Colombia, with the majority located in the United States.
The overall winners will be selected by AHEAD's judges, a panel of leading hospitality architects, designers, owners, operators, developers and industry commentators.
