Small Home Renovation in Barcelona by Nook Architects
A short redesign work in a small home in Barcelona surfaced complex problems that summoned the need for an extensive intervention that would include the redesign of the envelope and structure all together, a great opportunity to shape Juno?s House a project envisioned by Nook Architects, finalized in 2015.
The beautiful Spanish home of 1,400 square feet now presents bare, raw mixtures of elements in very communicative scenarios.  The volatile complex project development features interrelations between both space and materials offering a mesmerizing world for the inhabitants.

?Our clients purchased a row house with the intention of doing a modest refurbishment: to renovate the kitchen, opening it to the living room, adding a new bathroom and give the whole a fresher look. When the works began, however, we detected that the quality of construction was extremely poor and that each level was a patchwork of humble materials. The floor slab of the main level almost collapsed on top of us- we then had to come to a halt and analyse the situation. A simple refurbishment had converted into a comprehensive intervention that affected the structure and envelope of the house.
