First Year: Student Projects at Dundee School of Architecture
e-architect will be following the progress of Architecture Student, Sean Noon during his degree studies at Dundee University.
Project Two
Module Two is ultimately based around designing a simple bird-hide shelter for an ecology centre in Kinghorn, Fife.
As part of the module, we were asked to create a structure using card or balsa that could support an apple suspended 50cm above and 50cm away from the model base. Pushing away from the simple act of having a counterweight (i.e. like a crane), instead I created the structure (all card and triangular shaped) to displace the apple’s weight back and downwards by itself.

Project One
My first module was a month long series of 3 individual, and 1 group, sub-projects based on mapping movement, space and enclosure.
‘We were asked to map out the movement of a physical activity. I chose my bicycle commute ride from Dundee to St Andrews. From the GPX file from my Garmin device I drew a 3D topographical route.
The next part of the module was creating a model based on the graphic. I used single pieces of card and divided the route into 3 parts. The model is still part of the card, showing development and to ...
